Seems like most men and women are generally talking about pre-flop strategy, so I would like to speak a bit about how I play soon after the flop. Possibly I can assist others, or maybe they have advice to improve my play.
I feel that two of the most essential plays soon after the flop are the semi-bluff and the defensive wager. That’s because these are the plays you make once you havent hit a hand but you might have a excellent drawing hand. Its easy to play a hand if you flop a monster. Except I consider that these 2 are the best ways to play a drawing. Each one is played depending on you challenger(s) and your postion. So here’s how I bet on it, so tell me what you think.
Early Location – Tight Competitors:
A semi-bluff works fairly properly in this position. Arrive out betting and if a tight player did not hit a hand he’ll most likely lay down, and if he’s unsure you may receive a call. Except watch out, if that tight gambler comes back more than the top it may perhaps be time to get away.
Early Position – Loose Opponents
This is were I like to try and do a defensive wager. Come to a decision how numerous chips you’re willing to risk on your draw and wager. That is normally a much lower bet than normal. It has been my understanding that the loose gambler will usually just call a wager instead of re-raise. Even so, if you check to them, theyre much more likely to throw in more chips than your willing to pay.
Late Placement – Tight Opponents

Late Place – Loose Competitors
This one can be a bit challenging, because it is tougher to put a loose player on a hand. And if your in late location against loose gambler, odds are they have already wager. This is had been I usually decide to take a chance and arrive back more than the best of them and hope they do not call, and if they do, well then its time to wager. Chances are though even a loose gambler will go away in the event you come back strong enough.
Keep in mind though that these are moves I only make soon after the flop comes and I have a reasonable drawing hand (usually not a gutshot either). Perhaps four to the flush or the open ended straight, for example.
